In April 2025, phd-student Kuluk Helms was invited to participate in Reykjavík International Literature Festival. During the festival, she participated in a paneltalk with Abdulrazak Gournah and moderated by Þóra Arnórsdóttir. The conversation centred around writing and creativity coming from a colonized perspective while navigating colonial systems. They talked about the power of language as a vehicle for reflection and communication and about the beauty of transforming thoughts into words as a service both to the self and to one’s communities.
